Just For Fun Photography
One of my favourite things to do is to just get lost in nature with my camera. Some of these are my all time favourite pictures that I have ever taken. When I see them I am brought back to where I was and how I felt. The one of the canoe in the mist is my absolute favourite picture that I have ever taken. I was taking a picture of the sunrise one morning while camping at Arrowhead Provincial Park. I was capturing the sun, the mist and the trees, when seemingly out of nowhere, the man in the canoe broke through the mist. To me, it was pure perfection. I couldn't get back to my site fast enough to see if it turned out as well as I hoped. I encourage everyone, to get lost in nature! Another one of my favourite nature photography memories came when I was hiking through the woods. I was laying on my stomach, trying to take some macro shots of some mushrooms when I was suddenly aware of something moving through the trees beside me. I rolled onto my back to get a better view, and as I did a grey horned owl silently flew over about 8 feet above me. It's wingspan was around 4 feet and I couldn't believe how large, yet how well it navigated flying between the trees that were very close to one another. I didn't get any photos that I kept that day, but the memory of the experience with the owl is something that I will never forget. Again, get lost in nature!
